Electric Fireplaces Pittsburgh

You may be considering adding a fireplace to your home for extra warmth and ambiance in the cool of fall and the dredges of winter; however, you might not want the extra work of fueling a fire with wood or cleaning up the mess that a real fire makes. So what should you do?

An electric fireplace is a fantastic alternative to the traditional wood burning fireplace for a number of reasons. First, there’s no need to chop wood and continually fuel the fire with it, and there’s no mess to clean up after you’ve used it.  Secondly, it safely generates heat and flames with the push of a button. And finally, an electric fireplace puts out significant heat and creates a lovely ambiance with the flames it produces.

How does an electric fireplace make flames, though? Incredibly realistic, these flames are produced by a somewhat simple set of mechanisms within the fireplace. Typically, the light from a Light Emitting Diode (LED) reflects off of a spinning light refractor made up of three-dimensional patterns. This reflection creates the illusion of flickering flames and the glow of fire within the fireplace. In some models, the sound of crackling accompanies the glowing flames. The heat emanating from these units is generated by a fan that pushes heat from a heating coil out into the room. This warmth also adds to the realistic look and feel of the flames within.
